Camping Alturas

We went camping at Alturas lake this weekend and it was beautiful. The weather was great and we all have a great time. Summer in Idaho is the best=)
Looking for firewood. Since Brady insists on goofy faces I just took this one and ignored him.In a kinda bad mom way. I was taking pictures of him on this log hoping (just a little) that he would fall. But he didn't=)
Paislee was just happy to have some dirt and her shovels.
This tree stump below was just a plain old tree stump. By the time the kids were done stacking wood on the stump it became their nature club.
We could have taken a tour through this gold dredger but it would have been $20 so we passed and moved on to the gold panning and ghost town.
Custer Ghost Town
As soon as I saw this old doll carriage with a baby in it. I pointed it out to Paislee and show her how it said not to touch. She said "But can I have that baby for kismas (Christmas)."
They had some old catalogs from the 1900's there. This one shows that you could buy some fancy boots for $4 and a corset for 50 cents.
I thought this head stone was pretty funny. He was either 55 or 60 and cause of death was over drunk=)
We got to tour all the old houses which had old furniture and tubs in them. Each house or place on the map had a plaque explaining who had lived there and a little history about it. It was actually a really neat place to visit.
The kids got to pan for gold and actually got a few tiny specks of gold. Paislee got the biggest piece but she was more excited just playing in the water.
Brady wanted to find a big gold nugget and sale it so he could buy a new video game. Krissa with her gold If you are ever up by Stanley ID you should check out this place. They had a big map for people to put a pin in saying where they were from. There were people from Austria and Alaska that had been there.
Brady was pretty tired after a morning of tormenting his sisters.
Off to the Beach.
I just had to include this picture of Paislee with her cute little or should I say big bum=) Whats even funnier is her walking around camp singing "I like big butts and I cannot lie"

It was so nice to sit in the sand and watch the kids play in the water. If you only knew how cold this water was (imagine a ice cold glass of water) you would appreciate the kids faces. They didn't seem to care. We only had one fight at the beach because brady wrecked Paislee's sand castle. When I asked him why he said "because I'm a bully". What a little turd.
I just had to take a picture of the beautiful popcorn I made in my camper microwave. I love my new generator=) We ended up making hershey bar pancakes this time and when Brian offer Brady a glass of milk he said "no thanks I don't want to wash this taste out of my mouth ".
On our way home we saw these planes at the small airport there and each one had a tent by it. I happened to see a lady walking by going toward them. I asked if one was hers and if they just camped there. She said "actually we just flew back from staying in the back country and stopped here for breakfast. Sounds pretty awesome to me=)

Almost forgot Brady's awesome video=)

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to the best dad we could ever ask for. He is such a great daddy and you can tell by how much the kids love him. Even though I do call him "the fun parent". I know someday when Krissa starts dating our roles will change. ha ha Love you babe I hope you have a great fathers day, and I hope it is filled with lots of fishing on your boat=)

To start our fathers day weekend off we went for a ranger ride yesterday, it was really fun until big black clouds rolled in and we had to make it out of the canyon in about 10 minutes. We survived and I'm pretty sure Paislee thought it was the best ride ever=) She kept yelling woohoo!

Brady took his trusty BB gun with us in case we saw any snakes. He kept asking Brian when they were going to stop and hunt for snakes. I heard Brian say "I don't know about you but I would rather just leave the snakes alone and hope we don't see any. Brian's just a little afraid of snakes=)

If you look in the distance you can see Brady heading up to the hills to look for snakes. With our trusty shih tzu behind him for back up. haha

Slip and Slide

Its finally warm enough here to pull out the slip and slide. Krissa and Brady are loving it and Paislee loves to pretend like she is doing it=)
Here she is looking like she is really going to dive in...
but she really only went about this far and that was just walking in it.
In these pictures Paislee had the hose kinked and everyone was trying to run through the sprinkler before she let the kink out. She was pretty easy to fool=) All we had to say was look at the kitty and she would look all over for a cat=)

Seinfeld and Chewbacca aka chewy

We went to Salt Lake this weekend to see Jerry Seinfeld and the host of the Marriage ref Tom Papa perform. And let me tell you they were both hilarious. At the very end Jerry let people ask him questions and when someone asked where a prop was from his Seinfeld sitcom he said. "You do realize this isn't TV and we are live" Then he proceeded to stick is hand back and forth in front of him to prove to the guy that he wasn't in a TV. We were so glad to get to go out with my mom, my brother Ray and his girl friend Jeanie and no kids. What a great date night=)

Saturday we went to pick out a new puppy. We ended up with this little fur ball and since well he looks like chewbacca from star wars his name is chewbacca. Chewy for short. Brady had a little crying fest at the guys house because he wanted a different puppy because it was the smallest and he was worried the other puppies would hurt it. What a sweetie. Once we told him our new puppies name he got over it. He loves star wars. Krissa on the other hand was in love at first sight and therefore many of the family members haven't even gotten to hold chewy. We will see if she is as excited about him when potty training begins=)

Goodbye Penny

After this past week and having to watch penny slowly get worse we made the decision to take her to the vet today and put her to sleep. It was a very hard decision but she is out of pain. We will miss our penny.
Krissa had a really hard time today so I told her to draw a picture. This is what she came up with.

Bike Race

Our neighbor told us about a bike race they have in Hailey every year for adults and kids so we loaded the kids up for their first race. Of course neither Brian or I could race even a inch on those courses but our kids did great. Brady only looked like he wanted to quit once but he kept going. And Krissa only slumped her shoulders and frowned once when she heard they had to ride the course for 5 minutes haha

Brady, Krissa and our neighbor GracieLook at the intensity on their faces =)
The end of the race and their still smiling so I guess that's a good sign=)
Brian gave Paislee and lift on the bike...

and when Krissa and I finally caught up at the truck paislee was shaking her butt at us and saying "nana nana boo boo shake my tushy". I guess she was pretty proud she beat us to the truck=)

Little Artist

Paislee told me to come and look at the picture she drew of Penny. When I saw this on the easel I was a bit surprised because it actually looks like a face with hair. Maybe she will be an artist someday=)
