Memorial Day

This year for memorial day along with flowers I thought it would be a good idea for us all to write on balloons to our loved ones and send them off to heaven. The kids really got into and it turned out to be a great experience for us all.

My Dads headstone. I just realized today that my dad passed when he was 57. Brians dad passed at 52 and his mom at 55. All way to young.

I got tears in my eyes when I read what Brian wrote on my dads balloon “Thank you for giving me such a great wife I will be sure to treat her great for the rest of my life.” I’m pretty sure my dad would love that. I know I do. Krissa wrote “Even though I never knew you I know you would have been a great grandpa.”

I made sure to write on terries that it was from her favorite daughter in law. I knew she would love that.

The bench Mitchell and Larry made last year for Larry and Brandon. We put our hands in it last year when they did the concrete. This year they just added Terries name. It turned out really nice.

We were happy to see Terries headstone had been placed before memorial day. It turned out so pretty.

We released two balloons one for Terrie and one for Brandon.

We sat at the cemetery for awhile and then Heath and Kerrie invited us to a BBQ. It was nice to hang out with the family.

Air Show 2012

Since the Air Show was on saturday at Hill Air Force Base. We decided to take front runner and go watch it. Our day started with a fun ride on front runner and then we caught the shuttle to the base. We saw parachuters and a lot of air planes doing tricks and flips.

 

 

We got to walk through this plane. It was huge and it just amazed me these giant air planes can fly.

We watched the Air planes for awhile and then got a snack.

When the rain started we found a spot next to a building with our umbrella and hunkered down. After a few minutes they postponed the air show so we decided to just start walking back to the shuttle. Us and a million other people had the same idea. As we walked the rain got harder and the wind picked up. By the time we even made it to where the shuttle would pick us up there had already been a long line that formed and we were all soaked from head to toe. We waited at least 45 minutes to get on a bus and then finally made it back to front runner. We were soaking wet and miserable but I still say it was cool to watch the planes. Paislee kept saying “I thought this would be fun… but it is not fun”. She was just a little disgruntle. haha

Paislee’s Preschool Graduation

This sweet little girl just graduated preschool on Friday. I’m so sad to see my youngest go into kindergarten. But I know she is so ready. We were shopping the other day and she held up a shirt and said “mom this is soo you”.  We were at Mcdonalds and she got a little canvas bag in her happy meal with instructions with it. She said “seriously we need instructions for a bag”. She definitely keeps me laughing.

Solar Eclipse

Because of the Solar Eclipse our neighbors were loving the fact that Brian had accumulated 4 welding helmets over the years. He said he knew someday he would be able to justify having 4 of them. It really was cool to see the eclipse especially since it doesn’t happen very often. It was a great way to end a great weekend.

Paislee’s 5th Birthday

Today is Paislee’s 5th Birthday. We decided to invite some of her closest friends and all the girls from her class. The party turned out so good and I think she had a blast. But it was hard to see my youngest turn 5. They grow up too fast.

The cake Grandma Ann made her. She said she wanted Grandma to make her cake since I have made all her other ones.

She chose Ice cream with sprinkles and chocolate sauce for her breakfast.

My sweet girl can you tell how excited she was that it was finally her birthday.

They loved the piñata and they looked extra cute using Krissa’s sleep mask for a blind fold.

When the bounce house was ready the fun really began. All the kids loved it and I’m pretty sure we will rent one again in the future.
