Lemonade

The kids had a great time selling lemonade. And I was surprised when they made 9 dollars=)

The Accident

 

We were so sad to hear Brian's parents had been in a accident. They were riding Terries scooter when the tire blew out causing them to be ejected from the scooter. Shawn has 4 broken ribs, a fractured collar bone and elbow and lots of road rash. He did have a chest tube (which they were removing tonight) from a collapsed lung.  He was in good spirits and finally got to have the popsicle he had been asking for all day. Terrie had brain surgery yesterday to alleviate the swelling on her brain from a brain bleed which went just as they planned. She had a stint put in her aorta today which went well too. She does have a couple other stints that may need to be done in her neck but they need her head injuries to be more stable for them to do those. She is in a coma and the Dr.s say that we just wait and hope and pray for the best. She has a a little movement in her arms and legs which is a good sign. We just ask for prayers and are so grateful for all the support we have been given.

Taking sister for a ride.

We went for a walk tonight and Brian had the great idea of putting the stroller tire on Bradys skateboard. Paislee was not impressed she cried until it came off.  But Brady thought it was pretty cool. I showed this picture to Brady and he said “oh good you got my good side”. What a nut.

Battle Creek Falls

A friend told me about a hike by pleasant grove called battle creek falls so the kids and I decided to try it. I have to say it was a really great hike. Everyone had a good time….well except paislee. This is what she was saying “when can I have a snack” “my legs hurt” “I hate hiking” “can I go home and take a nap”. Lets just say she wasn’t a fan. But she did make it all the way up and back. I think she just needs more practice. =)

Peatross/Mortensen Family Reunion 2011 Aspen

We went to Aspen campground this weekend with Brian’s parents, brothers, and Grandma Mortensen. It was great to get together with everyone and the weather was beautiful. The kids spent their time having water fights, shooting bb guns and sling shots,riding bikes and coloring. The adults went on a hike and just relaxed it was great.

Brady thought he could find a better way back to camp from the river… but as you can see from the mud on his butt, feet and hands it wasn’t the best way. haha

I would say Paislee spent 90% of her time playing in the dirt. She made many different pretend meals with dirt. Like spaghetti with marshmallows and chocolate cake with marshmallows.

Paislee got tired both nights and headed to the camper early to watch movies with chewy.

We hiked up the hill by Aspen campground and almost made it to the cave. It  was beautiful up there.

See the rocks just below and to the right of the cave that’s as far as we made it. The rocks seemed a little to unstable for us to want to try it.

Brian helped Dylan carve Chuck 74-11 in the tree in honor of Brandon.

When we went back to camp I helped the kids find the lolly pop tree. They get so excited to find lolly pops on a random tree around camp.

I couldn’t pass up taking a picture of chewy and Grandpa Shawn with their dew rags on. haha

I have to admit I cried a little after taking this photo of Dylan and his grandma and grandpa. Because it hit me right then that Brian’s brother Brandon was missing from all the pictures. We miss him.
