RIP Brandon We will miss you

Brian's older brother Brandon passed away unexpectedly on Sunday night at age 36. The past few days have been filled with lots of tears but also I have been so proud of my in laws, Brian and Brandon's son Dylan. Everyone has tried to hold it together as well as possible. And yesterday as we were planning the funeral Brandon's son Dylan (who is only 12) practically planned the whole thing. He knew exactly what his dad would want right down to the the font on the head stone. He is one strong little boy. As we go to the funeral on Friday I only hope I can have some of the strength this family has shown. We will miss you Brandon. You will always be in our hearts. Brandon didn't always have the best time here on earth but right now I picture him in heaven saying don't cry for me I'm in a better place with no worries.

April Fools!

 

I was trying to think of a way to fool the kids this morning. So I was talking to Brian about something I could put out for them to dip their strawberries in that would look like sugar. He had the great idea of salt. So I got up and casually got them all some and sat back to watch the reaction. Brady actually ate one and just made a face until Krissa ate one and started spitting and gagging and Paislee looked at me disgusted. Thank goodness we have 3 toilets for them all to spit in. Haha. Paislee is still saying “that was not a funny joke”. Me I’m still laughing. hehe

Silly Boy

I love my little man. He keeps us laughing and wondering most of the time. So yesterday when we were at Walmart and he caught sight of this belt. There was no leaving without it. This boy loves wrestling. It doesn’t hurt that his uncle Brent loves it too. But he still loves it. Since the belt was only $3 I couldn’t help but indulge him. He even asked if he could wear it with his suit for his baptism. I was like why not no one will see it =)

P.S. We went to Wal-Mart to get him some white underwear for the Baptism.  As we were looking around he said “we should get some that are white but have a brown print on the but and and a yellow print on the front”. I had to admit that would be funny but we went with just white instead.

We had parent teacher conference for Brady a couple weeks ago and the teacher said he was right at grade level for reading. I couldn’t help it I had to ask if she had tested him higher at all because just two weeks earlier in Bellevue he was reading at 4th grade level. The teacher kinda looked at me and said no I didn’t but I will. And then just a couple days later Brady came home and told me the teacher tested him and said he could read any book in class he wanted and that not all kids got to do this. For once I’m glad I spoke up.

First time on Utah Lake and First time on the Boat this year…

Since the sun was actually shining and the wind wasn’t blowing we decided to take the boat out on Utah Lake. It was actually really warm and relaxing. We didn’t catch any fish but overall we had a great time.

Hello Kitty Earrings

 

Its kind of funny that I didn’t even think to have Krissa’s ears pierced until she was 7 or 8 because she never asked. But since Paislee has a older sister she has been asking for awhile to get earrings like Krissa. So I finally caved….

So excited sitting in the chair…

Picking out her earrings and admiring herself with them in. I swear she smiled even while they were piercing her ears. Not one tear or flinch just smiles.

She was so excited that Hello Kitty was one of the choices for her earrings. I was a little excited too. Because who doesn’t love Hello Kitty=)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

A First…

Since Brian had been sick for a few days with the flu and I knew I was next (which unfortunately I was right). I asked Krissa if she was ready to venture out and get her first pedicure. I think she liked it but was a little confused when she couldn’t understand most of what was coming out the  ladies mouth since she was Vietnamese.  But she was happy with final product especially with the little flower on her big toe.  I'm pretty sure this wont be her last pedicure=)

More funny things my 3 year old says…

She was walking down stairs and saying her belly hurts (which usually means she has to go potty). Then she said “I wish we had a bathroom in the toy room, because that would be sooo exciting.”

Today she was pretending to give me shots and and I was yelling ouch. She was laughing really hard and then just stopped and said “mom stop I’m going to pee.”

Tonight she was walking around with her baby and all the sudden she stopped right in front of me and yelled “tell me a joke”.

We were driving the other day and all of the sudden she says “Kinzie (who is her little friend) is sooo cute”.

The other day she walked in where Brady was watching TV and I hear her yell “what are you damn doing”.

She has to use hand sanitizer at school. Well one day she told her teacher she didn’t want to use it because it made her thumb taste bad when she sucked it.

We had her little friends Kinzie and Kade over the other day and Kade took something from Kinzie. Paislee looked right at him and said “give that back to your sister do you want to hear her cry”. When he gave it back she said “now isn't that better”.

Brian was trying to talk her into tucking herself in for bed she looked at him and said “Well I can lay down by myself but I can’t give myself hugs and kisses.”

I asked her the other night if she wanted some carrots and she said “no I’m allergic to carrots”.

The other day I told her if she ate her dinner I would give her a candy. She said “I don’t know I don’t trust you.”

Another Blue wall…..

I finally talked Brian into painting our stairwell blue (just like we had in Idaho). As I was cleaning up I noticed how slippery the drop cloth was so I had Brady hold the top really tight and I held the bottom and we had instant indoor slip and slide. The kids thought it was great!

Dreaming of Summer at Saratoga Springs Marina

After going to the Boat show yesterday and having the temps in the 40’s today we decided to go and check out the marina in Saratoga springs. I think we are all a bit excited that the marina is 10 min from the house. Notice the kids are only wearing jackets. Oh yeah it was warm baby. Well warm compared to Bellevue Idaho.

Since I have had a few friends ask for pictures of the new house and since it was clean (for a minute anyway). I thought I would take some pictures.

My favorite room the kitchen. You can't see them but I have double ovens which make baking cookies alot funner.

If you could see out those sliding doors you would see mountains and Utah Lake. Its actually a pretty great view.

Right now the basement is full of boxes and paper and stuff that I’m not sure what to do with. But as you can see the kids have made a giant fort out of the boxes.
