Twin Falls Fair

image0-1

We went to the twin falls fair today and I have to say it was pretty fun. My poor kids had only been to one fair before and I think Krissa  and Brady were around 3 and 4 when we went. They were pretty excited to ride the rides and eat the junk food. I was pretty excited for the food.

4 dogs and 1 leash.....

Meet JoJo
We went to Twin Falls last weekend to take our shih tzu to get groomed. While we waited for the dog to be done I went to TJ Maxx and Brian went to sportsman's. That's where we went wrong, Brian going to sportsman's by himself=) Long story short we were on our way home with one extra dog and as we were talking about it we realized we now had 4 dogs and only 1 leash. Pailsee lost one while on our last hike and I'm not sure what happened to the rest. Brian's argument is its always better to have more than 1 hunting dog. My only happy thought is I have never had to take care of Brian's other hunting dog and I don't plan on doing much with this one=) She is a cute dog and the kids love her. Brian's other dog is named Mowgli so now when he is hunting he can yell MoJo to get the dogs to come to him. Clever huh=)
So if your keeping tally we now have a yellow lab Sammy age 12, wire hair pointer Mowgli 3, Shih tzu Chewy 5 months and wire hair pointer/short hair pointer JoJo.

Baker Lake

I got Brian to do hike up to Baker Lake with me today. I may have threatened to go alone and take his hunting dog as bear bait. But hey he still went and I think he had a good time.

Paislee did really well and only had to be carried for a little while and that's only because we got tired of waiting for her=)

If you can see Brady in the above picture. He may or may not have felt the call of nature #2 in the middle of the forest, and Brian may or may not have ripped part of Brady’s underwear so Brady could have something to wipe with. Brian may have called it a poop square. I asked Brady how it was to poop in the forest he said he didn't want to talk about it=)  Awe the memories.

In fact we only had one member of our party lay down on the trail a couple times and that was chewy. Luckily when he got tired Krissa or I took mercy on him and carried him. On the way up people were stopping and saying how cute chewy was and one time they walked away and Paislee said they didn't even say I was cute. I guess she is used to being the youngest and the cutest. Don’t worry Paislee I still think you are much cuter than chewy.

thumb sucker

Paislee has sucked her thumb since she was a baby. When I was preparing her for her first dentist visit she didnt believe the dentist didnt want her to suck her thumb. So when they asked if she sucked her thumb she looked at the ground and said NO. Ever since then when I see her suck her thumb I tell her not to. She just looks at me and says but I want to. The other day I was giving her a hard time and she started to leave. I asked where she was going and she said downstairs to suck my thumb=)

Making Dad proud

We were driving to go fishing tonight and this is what Brady said to Krissa "Krissa don't ask me to play while we are on the boat because I am going to fish, and don't be loud because that scares the fish away". After hearing that Brian said I think I have a tear in my eye, that is music to my ears.
As we were fishing Brian caught a small fish Brady said "awe that's just a small little bastard" just like it was another word. When I told him it was a bad word he looked at me like I was crazy. I guess his dad needs to watch what he says while they fish together.

Even Chewy has a life jacket=)

Hiking Carbonate

hiking

The kids and I decided to try and hike carbonate today. I have been wanting to do it for awhile and I thought Paislee might be up for it. We made it quite a ways before Paislee started to say “I’m tired” “I'm crying” “I’m to small”.  When she started complaining Krissa joined in so we made it 3/4 of the way and then Brady and I left them on the trail and went just a little higher. We didn't make to the top but we made it far enough to see a beautiful view of the valley and to get a good hike in. Maybe next year paislee can make it to the top=)

If you look at the photo to the left you can see Krissa and Paislee sitting on the trail below us. The last picture is the end of the hike. Paislee’s dirty face says it all.  I think overall the kids had a great time. Next time I think I will pick a little flatter trail.

Sun Valley Ice show

evan10

Im so lucky to have a friend that would give us extra tickets to the ice show. Brian wasn’t quite as thrilled as I was to go. But he did have fun. The ice skaters were amazing. If you look below you can see the couple spinning as he balances her on his head. (By the way thanks for the pictures Kristin) It was such a fun night with dinner with our friends, chocolate from the chocolate factory and amazing ice skaters including Evan Lysacek.

After the show all the skaters came out to sign autographs. Even though Evan was clear across the rink from us Kristin and I muscled our way in. Luckily she had her camera and got some great shots. Even though she did have to endure a kiss on her shoulder from some drunk lady=) I have to say Evan is even better looking in person=) Thanks for the tickets Kristin!
