Cared (Scared)

What is she so scared of you ask? That's right a balloon. She loved it in the grocery store but the minute we got in the truck she started crying. I asked what was wrong she said "Boon Cared" (Balloon Scared). And of course what did I do I saved the day, rolled down the window and let it fly. After I took a picture of her horrified face of course. (Oh and I promise I do her hair, but today was a hat day and she had thrown it off)

Being a little braver with Brady's hulk hands!

Its your turn....

That's all the envelope said that Amanda sent me today. Inside the envelope was this dress up dress that I had given to her for her little girl Livi to wear. Apparently Livi has grown out of it and its paislee's turn. And next year it will be Luci's turn! Thanks Amanda

I have a dream...

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day the kids did projects at school that I thought I would share. Brady wrote on this paper that his dream was to become a football player. Since I had never seen him watch let alone play football I asked him why. He said "because I really want to be spider man but I didn't know how to draw it so I just picked something I could draw".

Notice the object in the football player's hand that's a trophy!

Krissa's class got to make t-shirts with a picture they drew on it. Her dream is to become a teacher. Brian asked if she really wanted to be this or if she was just brown nosing. She said "Dad your a nerd."

I been awarded my first blog award...

I won an award. My cute friend Christie nominated my blog for one of the coolest she knows. Now I get to nominate 5 people for their cool blogs!

1. I nominate Christie back because her blog inspires me everyday to be a better mom. Christie has two special needs children and you can tell she is just a wonderful mother. I love to read her posts about her struggles and her triumphs she goes through every day. I've known Christie a long time but blogs have made it possible for us to reconnect. Can't wait for lunch Wednesday Christie!
2. I nominate my friend Carrie I've know Carrie for going on 5 years. She is one of the nicest people I know and her blog is so well written I feel like I'm experiencing what she is right along with her. I'm so glad I have her in my life and even happier that she has a blog so we will never be too far apart!
3. I nominate my Sis Tiff because she lives 5 hours away and without her blog I wouldn't be able to see her and her family nearly enough. She always writes the cutest posts and takes the most beautiful pictures. Love ya Sis.
4. I nominate Malisa. Brian has been friends with her husband Wes since kindergarten and through the blogs and going to their wedding we have gotten to know each other. She has such a cute little family and just seems to enjoy hanging out with them. I hope someday to actually see her in person again.
5. I nominate Stephanie Nielson. I don't know Stephanie in real life but through her blog I have gotten a lot of inspiration. Last year she and her husband were in a horrible plane accident and she was burned 80% of her body. Her hubby was 30% burned. Her sister Courtney ran her blog while she was recuperating and just last Friday she started taking it over again. She has 4 children and is such and inspiration to us all.
For those who won, here are the steps you need to take, in order to award your coolest blogs!
1. Place the logo on your blog
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you
3. Nominate other blogs for this award
4. Add links to those blogs
5. Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs
6. Give a reason why you consider their blogs cool.

Boredom

Out of complete boredom we started having Brian launch us across the room by his feet. My brothers used to do this to Tiff and I as kids so I thought hey lets give it a try. By the time we were done Krissa was laughing hilariously and Brian's legs were killing him!
Paislee kept sitting on his feet wanting a turn. Brian would just lift his feet and she would fall off laughing. She really thought she got a good ride!

Dancing Baby

Paislee loves to dance to Elmo. I love to watch her. Notice at the first of the video she thought I was taking a picture and immediately pulled her cheese face. Isn't it funny how almost every little kid loves Elmo. The only problem with paislee is I turn on Sesame street and she only likes it if Elmo is on the screen. So I spend most of my time rewinding and fast forwarding or I hear "Elmo,Elmo,Elmo" over and over again. If you pause my music you will be able to hear it better.

Flash Back Friday

Today's flash back is a manual that my mom got at the hospital when I was born almost 31 years ago and a picture of me as a new born. I just thought this manual was hilarious. It says things like please ask visitors not to sit on your bed. It has designated feeding times, and says do not smoke while baby is in your room. I just thought it was funny. Make sure to click on it to enlarge it! Wasn't I a cute baby=)

Pierced Ears!

Krissa finally got the nerve up to get her ears pierced. I was kinda nervous for her because there was only one lady working so they had to do one ear at a time. But she sat there and didn't move one inch or cry one tear. What a little trouper. She was so excited!

Flash Back Friday.. Potty Training Edition

Since Paislee is potty training I thought I would pull out some pictures of the kids when they were potty training. (Won't they love me for this=)
Krissa at 20 months (Look at all that hair=)

Brady at around 2.

Look at Paislee's chart every sticker is for a time she actually went on the toilet. I think it looks pretty good=) And I'm happy to say I haven't changed a poopy diaper in 2 days. Knock on wood.

Paislee and her famous cheese face!

Potty Training 101

I started potty training Paislee this week. I know it sounds a little crazy but I did start Krissa at 19 months and Brady at 20 months and they were both trained by 2 or after. Plus Paislee has been telling me when she goes and really hates being dirty. So far so good. She has gone a few times on the floor and a few times on the toilet. The times on the toilet were due to the magic of watching Elmo and eating fruit snacks. I guess whatever works right. I'm sure it will be a long road before this part of her life will be complete. Potty training is always a test of my mothering abilities. So wish me luck!

Nerf

Grandma and Grandpa Mortensen got Brady these Nerf guns for Christmas. And since we had two more from a previous Christmas. It worked out good when the kids started a Nerf war. I have to admit we mostly ran from Brian while he shot all of us. Oh well it was a good time anyway!

Paislee tried to play but ended up just pushing Elmo around, pausing only to give me her funny cheese face!

High Speed internet

Just wanted to do a little happy post that I finally got high enough speed Internet to load video again. This video is actually from august (around the time I lost my good Internet). But its cute none the less! (You will have to pause my music on the bottom if you want to hear it)

Our new years eve!

We spent our new years eve playing the wii fit with the kids! I was pretty upset when it gave me a calculated age of 54 and asked if I tripped a lot when I walked. But it told Brian he was overweight and his age was still 29. Anyway I worked the last couple of days and got my age down to 24 and Brian is now at 44. Sounds much better to me! I guess if anything its actually making me want to exercise. Even if it is to beat Brian=)
The kids running with the wii. Paislee was even getting in on the action!
Brian giving the kids piggy back rides!
